Čukarički
VS
Partizan
Belgrade, Serbia – March 16, 2025 and I flew all the way to Serbia to watch Čukarički play against Partizan.
Partizan players defeated Čukarički at Banovo Brdo (Čukarički Stadium) with a score of 1:0 in the match of the 28th round of the Serbian Super League.
It was a big result for Partizan, who are still fighting for the league title. For Čukarički, it was a frustrating night they had more of the ball but couldn’t make it count.

This was actually my first time watching a Serbian football game live, and I absolutely loved every second of it. The atmosphere was unbelievable, and the fans were incredible. The passion in the stands reminded me a lot of Cypriot fans loud, emotional, and fully supporting their teams. It made the whole experience even more special.

First Half:
Both teams started the game cautiously, knowing the importance of the game. Partizan stayed compact and more in defence, while Čukarički tried to control the game with more possession.
Čukarički managed to hold a decent ball possession, creating several half-chances but failing to break through Partizan's defence. A tough match with a lot of caution and interruptions, but little beautiful football and even fewer mature chances at both ends of the pitch. And just before the break, Partizan scored an amazing goal. Right at the 45th minute Aleksandar slotted the ball past the goalkeeper to give the visitors (aka his team) the lead. After a corner kick from the left corner, Kovač shot, and Ilic headed the ball towards the goal. The surprised Čukarički goalkeeper Mirković managed to save, but the ball bounced short, straight to the foot of Šćekić, who easily hit the unguarded net from five meters.

Second Half:
In the second half, Čukarički intensified their efforts, pushing forward in search of an equaliser. Mihajlo Cvetković had a clean shot from an excellent position, practically from the penalty spot, but Partizan goalkeeper Aleksandar Jovanović reacted quickly.

Final Whistle:
As the final whistle blew, Partizan players celebrated a hard-earned three points, knowing that this win could prove vital in their title race. And with that Partizan is still in second place in the Serbian Super League table with 59 points, while Čukaricki is in eighth place with 36.
